Beauty In Faith
This is a drawing of my younger sister, Lena. The original photo was taken by our other sister, Nadia. (You can see more of her photography here: NadiasPortfolio.com.)

It's approximately 11 x 8 in.
It took about 14 hours.
Tools:
9H, H, 3B, 6B pencils
mechanical 0.7mm HB pencil
stick, kneaded, and electrical erasers
tissues, q-tips, tortillions for blending
on illustration board

Artist Comments:
I started this drawing around the middle of 2008 where I worked on it for just a total of five and a half hours. Then I didn't come back to it til Dec. 31st in 2009, and I finally finished it on Jan. 5th in 2010. It was a nice way to start the new year.
I am thrilled with this drawing! It helps that Lena is beautiful to begin with, and also that Nadia is such an excellent photographer, but my level of skill is noticeably getting better! There is more detail than this scan of the drawing shows. The only part I'm not too happy with is the scarf around her head, but I really didn't want to spend too much time on that part anyways (the focus is her face, especially her eyes).
